Wallrockets Datsun 620 (Sr20det round 2)

Well, after my first sr20 into datsun 620...I figured I might as well give it a try again.

I have more of a budget, knowledge of the sr into 620, and better skill sets now. With so it's been going very smooth and I am very proud of its out come.

So....
I picked up a very nice 1972 Datsun 620 with no rust, and running well. I paid quite a bit for it, at $3500. In my own mind...it was worth every penny. I enjoyed driving it for a few months, then the speed bug bite me again. Out comes the l18!

You can use imgur.....when you upload pics from your computer, you can choose from several "sizing" tabs.  I usually resize to the "message board" size....if I remember to hit the tab first.

First order of business was to fit in the SR20DET. Unfortunately i had to lose the GT3071 turbocharger because..well..it was just too big.

Here is what i did to fit the sr20 mounts. I used Datsun 620 rubber mounts, 1/8th inch steel plate, stock sr20det engine brackets.

Cut the stock mounts like so, then just made them fit the oem Datsun 620 mounts. The mounts had to set offset as seen in pictures. Then just added bracing on the truck side.

Next I had some fitment issues with a new s15 t28 turbocharger. I had to cut the Megan Racing manifold and clock it toward the engine block (which makes a custom down pipe elbow necessary as well)

I also had a problem with the steering shaft, although i think the stock t25 turbo i would not have to notch the steering shaft.

Added a brace, I am no welder, but sometimes i do decent. SOME times haha. (I probably never even seen a decent weld haha)

Flipped the center link, just purchased a new center link for a older truck and tapper drilled out the holes (i might actually weld up the hole and then take to a machine shop to cut)

Then just welded the 240sx pedal top to the Datsun 620 pedal bottom, and drilled 2 holes in firewall to run the factory Nissan 240sx throttle cable assembly.

Inter cooler was pretty simple. I just had this Honda FMIC laying around in the shop. It had 3 12mm bolt size holes on top to bolt it to something, I just drilled the holes out on the Datsun radiator support and called it good. Its very sturdy, and i am happy with it. To help others with this inter cooler, i think its for a Honda, has 3 bolts top and 3 bolts on bottom, inlet is 2.25 and outlet is 2.25. I will get the length and what not later for you guys.
