MikeRL411
If you mean gasket, Chrysler corporate thermostat gaskets have the proper holes and side width to seal. Universal gaskets are to thin to properly seal Datsun thermostat housings. Quote Link to comment
Kenmataya
the 1.3L and 1.6L use the same thermostat: BECK/ARNLEY 143-0686 found thermostat with O-ring and gasket on ebay for under $20! Thanks, Ken Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
What happens is previous owners neglect the proper coolant antifreeze mix that also neutralizes and prevents corrosion. The thermostat housing and the thermostat cover tends to become pitted. I've fixed a few by passing it back and forth over sandpaper on a smooth surface. In bad cases a double gasket will work. I've never used RTV. It makes your L series look like a Chev engine. Quote Link to comment
