mx71
I've got a new ICM, and I got the cap and rotor off, but how do I remove the metal piece of top of the ICM? I unscrewed the phillips screw but it won't come out more than a 1/4 of an inch. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The module is on the distributor shaft, and held on by two screws. There is a rotor? with four tips held on to the distributor shaft with a roll pin just above the module. 2 Quote Link to comment
mx71
Right, how do I get the rotor off, or the roll pin out? 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I pried the rotor up with screw drivers. A small gear puller would be better. When installing put the roll pin in last. 1 Quote Link to comment
mx71
That worked, thanks! I think my problem was removing the phillips screw in the rotor shaft. When prying with that back on, it came right off. 3 Quote Link to comment
nl320what
That damn screw will get you everytime!!! If you need a spare ICM I found a 3 terminal one I dont need anymore and also a pretty new tach for the dash if you dont have one (Round or Square tach face?) I can sell $15 for both shipped. 1 Quote Link to comment
mx71
I have an extra four pin now, so I don't need that, but I'll take the tach. It's an 85, so the tach is round. 1 Quote Link to comment
