JamesFouche
Hi all, I am in the process of buying a half-refurbished G223 with all the original trimmings (grille, wheels, etc.) It only has some propshaft issues that needs tending to. I am looking for a service/ workshop manual. Any idea where I can get this? Also, any advice before buying? What should I be mindful of? Purchase price threshold? Regards, James 1 Quote Link to comment

wayno
I found references to 223, G223, LG223, VG223, and VLG223, there were also references to U223 and UL223, they were called "early applied model codes". It says this model was the first to have torsion bars. 2 Quote Link to comment

Draker
He's looking for an fsm. Likely similar to the 320 fsm I'm guessing. 1 Quote Link to comment
Draker
See if either of these are what you are looking for. http://pl510.com/manuals/?cd=Datsun/Trucks/320 2 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
That's better guys. Was wondering why it would need refurbishing. Good info. 1 Quote Link to comment

wayno
it looks like a 320 Grill is totally different, and so is everything under the hood, as far as I know the heater box is in the engine compartment. 2 Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
They're similar, but there are significant differences if you know where to look. The cab rear is longer and more squared off, and the door hinges are exposed (that's the main visual difference between the 22x and 320s). 2 Quote Link to comment

JamesFouche
Thanks for the info. The pickup is listed as a G233. My understanding is it's the first roll-out of the E1 engine, which would later be the 320 standard. So I have a 222, with a 320 engine, and a number of unique measurement changes from predecessor to successor. And, yes, also a unique torsion bar. The other question I have, is how many of these still exist? And how many were made back in 1961? Can I post a pic on the forum? Just for clarity? 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Yes but you will need a picture hosting site (other than Photobucket) where you can take and store your pictures. Copy the image code and bring it here to post. I'm using imgur, but there are lots of others that do the same thing. 1 Quote Link to comment

wayno
I also understand it this way. Would that be a complication in the renovation process? Not many of these early trucks around anymore, and the ones that are around they want a large fortune for, and an even larger fortune for parts if they will even sell them. I also have a rare U320, it is impossible to get U specific parts for it, that is why I said make sure every part was there, especially body/trim parts. 1 Quote Link to comment
