DatMo
Just wanted personal opinion on what you guys thought was the better air filter. I’m ditching my siderafts for a bit because I can tune a weber and get it going better but I have yet to purchase a filter. I was debating between the ram flo filter or the k&n knock off which would be a thin square filter. I doubt there’s much difference? Also, has anyone run a 32/36 with a strut bar inside a 510? I was wondering if the t3 strut bar will even clear if I have the filter Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
strut bar really needed? I never had them on anymy 510s weber sells a short 1.75 tall air cleaner. and the standard size also. webercarbsdirect.com sell them and Piercemanifolds 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The above. Get the Weber filter and skip any strut bar. Quote Link to comment
racerx
Strut bar? Just get the weber filter, make sure it clears, they have different sizes. 1 Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Yes, I have run an air cleaner on a DGV on a 510 with a strut tower brace. Mine were custom made, so it really depends on the brace. 1 Quote Link to comment
DatMo
Of course I know there’s always the option of not running a strut bar but I already have it so I might as well. And if I have the option to get the filter to make it work which is practically the same price, I’d do that. Thanks motorsports! Ill see if the stock one fits fine then. Mine is the t3 bar so it’s just directly across. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Having something is the worst reason for using it. Having something that actually does something is different. Quote Link to comment
DatMo
Having something is the worst reason for using it. Having something that actually does something is different. That's some good wisdom. Regardless, I'm gonna still go with the shorter one because I have an l20b and if the strut bar fits, so be it, it'll be on. Quote Link to comment
racerx
If the strut bar is already there then leave it. 1 Quote Link to comment
DatMo
If the strut bar is already there then leave it. That's exactly what I'm saying lol. I just don't have a filter so i wasnt sure the stock one would fit before I purchased one. 1 Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Surely you don't mean the stock Datsun air cleaner. You're speaking about the "stock" Weber air cleaner, right? Quote Link to comment
DatMo
Surely you don't mean the stock Datsun air cleaner. You're speaking about the "stock" Weber air cleaner, right? Yes. Sorry. I should have been more clear. 1 Quote Link to comment
Ranman72
i ran a weber with filter on an l16 with a t3 strut bar and no issues if you have the stock hood prop you might have to cut part of the loop that holds the bar that holds the hood up mine is cut for clearence Quote Link to comment
