My brother has a 1996 Hardbody SE truck that is having electrical issues and I was wondering what other vehicles I can search for in the J.Yard for parts for that year truck. Specifically the main connector of the wiring harness that goes into the top of the alternator.

Look at other similar year vehicles. The alternators are not really specific to any engine or model. It's easier to make one or two alternators with different outputs and a universal bolt pattern. I have an 100 amp '02 Altima alternator on my '76. Had to put a V pulley on and grind some clearance on the mount but bolted right up.

I have a Hardbody KA alt mounted to my L engine on a stand. It fits on to the L16 steel mount.
