More likely one larger e-fan. Or mechanical with pusher for ac or assist. It's worth looking at though. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike Posted September 30, 2017 Report Share Posted September 30, 2017 This Subaru one was two almost identical with shrouds. One had a rad coolant recovery container on the side but I modified it to fit and then realized I needed the other and it was too late. I already have the recovery can anyway. Pull on the left side to clear the fan pulley and the push on the right in front. Overlap about 3"? For all the current draw mentioned, both are on a 20 amp fuse. $10 each. 1 Quote Link to comment

I beleive it has to 10" pullers, might be 12"s, and a custom aluminum shroud. All through my 520 build I have relied on a 4 1/2" grinder with a cut off wheel a cutting torch and a welder to make what I wanted to fit. G8KeaPoR Posted October 6, 2017 Report Share Posted October 6, 2017 Not to jump in late but I'm out in Northern Virginia have an L20b with two pushers and they are garbage when I get into traffic unless you like the smell of antifreeze coming out of the overflow tube that is. If you can fit a shroud and a puller I say go that route mainly cause you have a directed shroud. I have been thinking of trying to use a VW passat fan I had bought for my old TDI before they told me they were going to give me 23k for a car with 100k miles. (dieselgate buyback.) datzenmike Posted October 6, 2017 Report Share Posted October 6, 2017 Watch the fans. Make sure they are actually pushing and not pulling. Last weekend I started and warmed up my 710. Fans come on for 10 seconds and off for about one minute. Seems that in the summer when it was warmer it was 10 and off for 30 sec. 1 Quote Link to comment

Pretty sure given the crap relay and controls for it that it is an I DA CHINA guaranteed to overheat your car branded fans... The radiator has a nismo cap but that doesn't mean much these days so I am going to assume that it is crap too and even if it wasn't they did a number on it when they put the fan fasteners through the core. 1 Quote Link to comment

G-Duax Posted October 19, 2017 Report Share Posted October 19, 2017 I've run a Sirocco radiator for years, with 1) 10" pusher, and 1) 10" puller, with them offset to cover the width of the core. Works fine, even on 105 degree Texas weather. One fan is wired up with the ignition, and the other through the Sirocco temp switch. Only thing, the cheap ass fans I buy only last 2 years at the most. Maybe if I wasn't a cheap ass, and buy better quality fans, that would be less of a problem. 2 Quote Link to comment
