Acardiel11
Again...shouldn't be enough to steer someone away from a 240sx KA when it had been installed with little effort. More than one way to skin a cat. Only problem is that he doesn't have the ecu, intake, etc. actually started looking for some D21's locally and found a few. Would the transmission in the D21 fit in the 620 or do you think I should just keep the 5 speed I have (was just rebuilt a few months ago) and find a z series front case? 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The D21 transmission is stronger and fits the KA block, obviously. Why bother with the old one and converting it? The 2wd D21 transmission is slightly shorter than the 620 transmission. The 240zx is 3-4" longer. 2 Quote Link to comment

But now that I know the D21 transmission will fit, I agree with you on doing that swap. 2 Quote Link to comment
Acardiel11
Oh and you'll need Steve's bracket for the fuel pump, motor mounts, and get Jeff's Can-Am box for plug & play onto your 620, all that will save you tons of hours in Fab work and wiring! Does Jeff still sell his Can-am box's? I found his thread but the last post was from 2013. 2 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
He does, you just have to PM him. The main thread on the boxes is this one. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/537-how-to-wire-a-ka-ca-sr-and-vg-into-anything/page-1 Hey Mike, you want to ship me both of those pans? I need them to develop a DE rear sump pan. 2 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
Yes. Just send a pm to Icehouse. He may also list them on his website, jbcoachworks.com. 3 Quote Link to comment

]2eDeYe
Not on a 240sx motor, they still have the truck block pattern. 2 Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
For the $300 he's asking, I would buy all of it, and then also buy a D21 truck motor. Swap over all the car intake stuff instead of the D21 throttle body crap, and have a ton of extra spares left over. 3 Quote Link to comment

All of the goods fit in a tidy package. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/37-ka24e-into-a-620/ 3 Quote Link to comment

I have a d21 engine & tranny on mine, you'll need to modify the tranny mount or slot it, no big deal, go check out redeye's 620 build thread, everything you need to know is there 2 Quote Link to comment
Acardiel11
Well I did what you guys insisted. My buddy sold me a 97 D21 for $400. What do you guys think? Odometer reads 300k but the guy my buddy originally bought it from said it was rebuilt but no paperwork was shown. Was able to drive it and it runs excellent! 2 Quote Link to comment
Draker
Seems like a good deal! 1 Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
That is a smokin deal. Drive it like it is a few times to get a feel for the condition. Look for leaks before you clean it, then pressure wash it while it's still in running condition so you can run it after the wash and make sure nothing important got wet (like water in the cylinders and inside the TPS box, etc). Best to know it runs great before you pull it so that if it doesn't run great after the swap, you have something to go on. 3 Quote Link to comment
racerx
Great deal..do a compression check, check all fluids, oil, rad, rear end, tranny, brake, coolant, all hoses, inc brake.. 2 Quote Link to comment
