KamakSun
Happy friday ratters, I'm sanding and priming the interior of my stripped out 510. I removed the dome light bar to access the hidden area. Should I put that bar back in place for rigidity? Thank you, Kamaksun Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
It's called a 'roof bow' and looks rather sturdy for just hanging a dome light on. I would definitely keep it. Quote Link to comment
KamakSun
Do you know what goo like substance I should use in addition to the two bolts on the sides? Is goo necessary? Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
My guess would be seam sealer.... Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Yes, dampens and prevents vibration allows weight to be supported on roof like heavy wet snow. Here's something.... https://www.3mcanada.ca/3M/en_CA/company-ca/all-3m-products/~/3M-Automix-Flexible-Foam-08463-200-ml?N=5002385+3293775994+3294529206&rt=rud ... for hood bows. Probably cheaper to get a can of the expanding urethane insulation foam in a can. Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
Do NOT use expanding foam. Quote Link to comment
Rick-rat
I won't tell you what I would use because some here feel it is not the "correct" stuff to use. Even though it is cheap and works great Quote Link to comment

INDY510
without it the roof will cave in with 10 lbs of weight on it, but it pops back into shape easily Quote Link to comment
