Pistachio67
Hello everybody I'm a new Datsun owner and I was just curious if anybody could help me out with lowering it? 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Well some research is in order. Unfortunately out search function is not currently working so go to Google and type in "lowering Datsun truck. ratsun" Try "Lowering 521 datsun.ratsun" Any question follow with the word 'ratsun'. This is a very commong alteration for the 520/521/620/720 so most of the information applies to all of them. Start an https://imgur.com/ account, it's free. They will host and store you pictures. Copy the image codes and bring them here to post. We'd lie to see you truck. And if you have a question a picture explains a lot.. 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
You can adjust a couple of inches with stock setting. Only when going more extreme and you run out of adjustment do you need to re-index the bars. In all cases of raising back up or lowering a vehicle height, this will change your camber and toe in alignment. This needs to be put back to right for safe driving and good tire wear. 1 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
Mike is correct on all points. I strongly advise after any height alterations to any vehicle have the alignment checked and adjusted as needed. I also strongly suggest that if you have worn out suspension or steering parts repair/replace these parts before altering vehicle height, this is completely from a safety aspect. Flyinbison59
Thanks for the site. I’m new to the Datsun work having just bought a 67 520 pickup. It has no motor or transmission so a probable swap will be in the works. My intention is to lower/bag the truck and leave it in its current condition. I have no hood so it could possible be hoodless in design. Anyway I will be scouring to site for help and tips. Thanks again. 1 Quote Link to comment

You're going to find swapping something non-J series into the 520 challenging. Keep us posted. 2 Quote Link to comment
