Toney
Does anyone know where i can get ahold of these? I am converting to disc in the back and the threads were jacked after pulling it off. Its a 72. Thanks! Or come to think of it. Is this the reason why everyone upgrades to CV axles? carterb
CV axles replace half-shafts. There are no threads on the half shafts. What "stub axles" are you refering to? The output stub axles from the differential? Not sure what that has to do with a read dis conversion. Pictures? --carter Quote Link to comment
Toney
Sorry i should've been more specific. I am replacing the bearings (inner/outer) in the rear wheel hubs/ stub axles while I'm doing the brakes. I do not understand how to upload pictures on this. Its the rear stub axle/ wheel hub I'm talking about. Not the half shaft. Thanks Quote Link to comment
Guest Mojo510
I might have a set left over from when I was making CV kits, I'll look tonight or tomorrow. If you don't take a die grinder and grind off the peened flat portion of the nut that locks it to the axle you will ruin the threads. In other words just don't put your 1/2" air gun on there and rip them off. Make sure you get new "nuts" If you want CV's there's a few out there selling kits. Quote Link to comment

Yeah just let me know you do. ill send you my email address so if you come across a set. I really only need one and as far as new nuts. Does anyone know the thread size for those? Im not currently thinking of going to CV's unless thats my only option for finding new stub axles. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
carterb
The CV axle comment threw me. I nave a complete spare trailing arm. I've not pulled a stub axle from one but I understand it is difficult to remove the crimp nut. You have to cut them off right? Anyway, I have one in WA in case no one gas something closer to you. Guest Mojo510
You can buy new nuts at the dealer, they won't be in stock most likely but they come in a couple days, I have the P/N for them at home also, please only use the factory nuts! How I get them off is to take a die grinder with a straight carbide bit and grind down the crimps on both sides down to the stub, lube and remove, haven't ruined one yet doing is this way. Heck I might even have some nuts left over now that I think of it. Quote Link to comment

heywier427
Buying cv's will not get you the outer stub axle you need. They only replace the half shaft assemblys. Thats it. 1 Quote Link to comment
Guest Mojo510
I looked and found everything but a stub, sorry man. I swear I had four of them. The axle stub nut P/N is 43262-21000 Steve Quote Link to comment

hang_510
Confirm torque before hammering the new nuts. Sucks doing it twice. Quote Link to comment
