Anybody got it fixed for when the key doesn't turn the ignition switch on anymore enough to engage the starter? You know what I mean worn out. As a result I have to let the switch hang down from the steering column and activated independently with a key or flat blade. Then also when I go to turn the car off when I grab the switch it feels hot sometimes

The key barrel? Flush it out with WD-40.  Then get that ignition switch back in properly. Last thing you need is to stall in an intersection with a truck barreling down on you while you fumble and drop your screwdriver.... again. I did this once, only. Ahh it's good enough to go around the block I said. What can go wrong?

The back part with the wires, flush with electrical contact cleaner.

You might have broken the metal tab that sticks out the back of the key portion, into the switch portion. I don't have a fix, I bought a push button switch upgrade to replace the whole thing
