The State wants my money... overstated scale weight

So, I got the title for my "free" '82 King Cab 4X4 in the mail today.  Everything looked normal until I got to the "Scale Weight"-  5990 lbs!  Um, the GROSS weight of the truck per the door tag is 4900.  My '83 KC 2WD has the scale weight as 2950, no way is making it a 4X4 double the scale weight!

Difference between 4000 gross and 6000 gross isn't insignificant, either.

I guess I won't have to worry about overloading fines, though.  Sheesh.  Not that the swiss cheese bed could carry much.  I mean, it was free.

Now you have to pay more money to have it corrected, they tell me to look at the paperwork before submitting it and if I miss it that is not their fault that they typed it in wrong.

Washington is getting real bad about fees, the folks in this state voted in $35.00 auto registration fees yet we are not close to that figure, cars are really bad, they added an extra fee that trucks don't have, it's criminal, they don't give a rats ass what the people voted in.

They did that to me saying my 521 weight 3850lbs.

I called BS. Without a certified scale slip they can't do anything, or at least that's the story I was given.

They can go to their books or look it up on the internet, they have been doing that every time I bought another vehicle(320/521/720) for years, but lately they don't want to do shit, they want money, and they will lie to get it and you have to correct them, getting a scale slip is just another document they will get more money for instead of the bogus tonnage fees, it's criminal what they are doing, but if you want to pay the correct amount you owe, you have to do all the documentation.

I suppose I should mention that I renew my tags thru the mail which now has another bogus $5.00 fee, and I only go to the State of Washington DMV buildings when I have to, I do not go to the Sub-contractor DMV buildings, they are terrible places to go except to re-new your tags, but as I said I do my renewals thru the mail.

It costs me more to renew my Mini tags than any other vehicle I own car or truck.

That's what they did when I registered my Chevy.  Looked it up.  My Chevy didn't have a title- it had an SF-97 since it was a Federally-owned truck (my Deuce and a half, same thing).  They accepted the placarded weight for that.  Hell, they ASKED me what I wanted the Gross weight to be.

With the Datsun I didn't think anything of it.  I didn't look at the old title except to ensure that the VIN matched.  Being that I found the engine room data plate in the console.

I've had enough issues with titles and registration.  My '76 King Cab was registered COMMERCIAL.  Type G/COM  instead of G/TRK.  And my 320 has a typo in the "vin" (serial number) caused by the old manual typewriters (they don't have "1" keys, they use a lower case "l" and the "L" in L320 became 1320.

They titled my L320 as VIN number C320XXXXXX and I didn't catch it, when I asked about it another time I was in there they said it would be $75.00 to fix the issue.

I do it online, but Snohomish County tacks the same fee the subagents use onto the online ones (Pierce county didn't).  Going into Everett isn't worth the hassle.  I'm forced to renew my Deuce and a half tabs in person due to the GVW.  I have to, every year, declare it's not used commercially (and as such exempt from having a DOT number and IFTA sticker).  The truck weighs 13,000 lbs empty with a GVW of 23,050lbs, so I can't avoid it.  And since I use it to tow trailers or haul heavy crap that won't fit in a pickup I can't do what other Military Vehicle owners do and get Collector plates.  But this year, they slapped a notice on my registration stating that I cannot tow trailers over 10,000 lbs.  Well, legally I couldn't anyway because that's going into CDL range, but I put a 15K receiver hitch on it specifically to tow a 30-foot boat...
