74' Datsun 620 - Dad's first car

Hey Everyone,

 

Last week, my dad gave me the first car he ever owned. A 74' Datsun 620. It's sat in the garage my entire life, and didn't see it run until recently. He's owned it since 1976 and has had at least 5 different engines in it. It's currently got some fuel and ignition issues, but nothing big. My dad does, however, want that specific engine back, so I'll have a project on my hands figuring out what to drop in there. Figured you guys would enjoy.

Summer driven, in the sense that it's always summer in Florida.

 

As for the engine, it's an LT-1 from the 70's (small block 350). It's had at least 5 different engines in it over its life. But my dad wants this one back for another restoration project of his. So I get the fun of figuring out what to shove in there :devil:

A lot of V8 interest in these trucks lately. I remember, as a kid, reading in a magazine how hot rodders liked the Datsun chassis, because it was very strong (probably when compared to '32 Ford, anything is strong).

If this is an older sbc, how does he adjust the distributor at the back?

I was going to say.. just put another L motor in there and drive it.. but then V8.

That's a cool looking truck. I bet you could light them up running that small block.
