edekalil
Any suggestions as what I can use to substitute or replace this spring that holds the linkage together. I need a couple of them. Quote Link to comment

MikeRL411
Take your spring to a well stocked Ace or equivalent hardware store. Somewhere in there greasy drawers full of parts you will find a similarly sized spring of the same pounds per inch [just squeeze them] that you need. 2 Quote Link to comment

Draker
Yep, carb linkage spring. What's wrong with the ones pictured? You just need more? Generic hardware store should have something similar. Can be hard to find in small towns.. Ace hardware usually has a good selection. I live in a city with around 5k people and there is a hidden gem of a hardware store that has all sorts of odd hardware. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Yep, carb linkage spring. What's wrong with the ones pictured? You just need more? You need three hands to put it together. It's likely out on the lawn somewhere. 3 Quote Link to comment

I live in a city with around 5k people and there is a hidden gem of a hardware store that has all sorts of odd hardware. I need a couple of extras for the blue car (that's all apart) and the Goon when I get the other carb on. I know they exist in the garage at the building but after 20 years ago taking it apart it may take forever to locate it. And it will probably be right under my nose the whole time. I found some washers and cotter pins. The stuff in the oic is from the 70 510. Quote Link to comment
racerx
If no ACE hardware around, try OSH or home depot, checked out OSH on line and tons of springs available, bring yours to get a feel of tension. Quote Link to comment
