Hello from Indiana with a 1969 521 short bed

Hello all.

I picked up this little 521 up here in the rust belt and its pretty clean. Miles are original and accurate. 77k.

I like the truck a lot so far. It has a few electrical gremlins, and needs and exhaust and intake before it will run smoothly.. But I wasn't expecting perfection on a truck that is almost 50 years old.

I'm looking to get a few things too, so I'll keep watch of the classifieds It has a very poorly applied paint job and now is missing literally every piece of rubber because they never put them back on after paint.

Tail lights for a 1969 521.

Ignition, doors, glovebox gas cap lock set with all matching keys.

Any piece that is made of rubber.

Steering wheel.

Steering gearbox.

Window stripping, 1/4 vent rubber.

Side fender "Datsun 1300" emblems (2)

Hood D ornament.

Carpet.

Spare tire.

Radio.

E brake cable/linkage.

Tie rods, center link, sway bushings, end links.

Hood adjusters.

Factory air filter housing.

Thanks guys! I really like it.

I have an air cleaner box but the clamp is broken, well I fitted it today and went and got an air filter and it didn't fit. Come to find out the one I got with the truck is for a different truck. I have no idea what it goes too. Maybe my carb isn't the correct one either?

He was having trouble with it idling high and running high. I asked if he rejetted or tuned the carb or anything and he said no... Well yeah, there's the problem. He had this paperclip jerryrigged with a paperclip to run partially choked since he didn't tune the carb.

Cheap eBay pod filter and this half assed motorcycle muffler barley hanging on the truck and the joints aren't even clamped tight, they slide off and on... New exhaust is next after I get the factory air box on.

I don't mind sharing dollars. I paid $4500 for it and I felt that was a fair price in this area and in this condition...

Opinions on price I paid versus current market values? I rarely see them in this area but I know they were more popular on the west coast.

No hard feelings, I'm new to the Datsun game.

Welcome. 521 guys are stingy with parts, myself included, so be patient and don't give up searching. I do have a factory air cleaner in storage but won't get to it for a while...not sure what it's worth, either...

Thanks! I really appreciate it!

I have no idea on these values either. I would be interested if you would part with one... I would really like to get it running before it gets cold here and I put it away though so if its too much hassle I'll search until you get around to it.

I might be able to get to it labor day weekend.
