Smart cars run either a 14" or 15" (I know, does not seem right).

Here is what I have:

185/55/14 80V Yokohama S drive; the only time this tire has rubbed was during autocross on VERY hard turns and produced some small cuts in the sidewall/ road contact area. These are on the grey coupe which is a stock set up.

195/60/14 86H Falken Azenis; these are what I had on the grey coupe to start with.  Even on the smallest bumps I would get rub in the 1/4 panel arches.  The front would rub on turns on the lead edge of the arch toward the bottom.

165/60/12 71H Falken Ziex 912; these are on the green coupe with a 2" lowered suspension and the car still looks like it could be lower another inch. No rub at all.  I have only put about 500 miles on these tires but so far so good.  I had to source the through a Mini Cooper site.

Everything rubs on a 1200.

They came with 21" tires and the fender openings are too short front to back for most tires taller than 21.5".

Best thing for non-flared 1200 is a 14x6 with a 165/55-14. That won't rub no matter how low you go.

A 185/60-13 will fit well on a 13x6 without too much negative offset, but you will still most likely have to trim the front edge of the fender, or bend it out slightly.

Biggest thing I ever fit without rubbing was a 185/55-14 on a 14x7. I managed this by massaging the floor (where your feet go) and using a spacer on the T/C rod to move the wheel back a wee bit.

As you can see, those look HUGE on a 1200 (to my eyes), yet they are only 22" tall. You can't use the same tire sizes you're used to for a 510, B210, or A10...

It's your car, just don't ruin it.

It's also not my money, so i'll suggest the most expensive option.

Oh, and I bought my car on 13x6 wheels with a +2 offset and 185/60-13 tires and it didn't rub, even though it was pavement scraper low...

No ,, he's been riding my jock in group text  to drive over to his shop so he could make fun of it in person ,, and i go over there and he's closed.

BUT ,, the boy went and payed for 6 months of broad form insurance and traded me getting his LS400 aligned for some tiny tires,, so maybe it will get out more than it does now.

4AG would be a way better motor over the CA. Lighter weight, same power, less work to install.
Parts are also way more plentiful for the Toyota.

And a 4AG sounds soooooo good when wound out.

Not true at all.... CA is far superior than a 4A...
