BambooU
Not the motor, not the linkage, but the wiper blades. What are y'all using? Do you have a recommended 16" that still has an old school look? An alternative could be the replacement rubber for the stock blades, though I have a feeling nobody sells the rubber. datzenmike
I had to order mine but one year I did replace them both for about $6. They are cut to size. I like the original blade holders with the down force wing on it and can't stand those plastic things. Double blades are surprisingly, more than twice as bad. Colored double blades are 4X as bad. Locally I have found a single blade for $20!!!! WTF pays that? Quote Link to comment

BambooU
So update; I bought some wiper refills 'specific' to period blades from O'reily's. Trico Classic or some such. Cleaned up my old blades with SOS and a scotch pad. Took a bit of manhandling and manipulation of the blade's grabbers since somebody screwed with them previously. This was the end result; https://www.flickr.com/photos/157833835@N04/shares/U091sE https://www.flickr.com/photos/157833835@N04/shares/826ydS https://www.flickr.com/photos/157833835@N04/shares/gY5jc1 https://www.flickr.com/photos/157833835@N04/shares/Xx632q Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Yes! those are the arms I have with the down force wing on them. How could anyone throw these precious things away and replace them with mere plastic POS???? Wait you guys have wipers? #rainxftw Yes definitely, I liberally use it as well on trips. Considering the time, effort, and cost of replacing the rubber, I see NO reason to simply do away with the classic look for a new blade. Took me maybe 30 minutes total to put the rubber in and clean up the arms and blades. The wiper refills were also around half the cost of blades. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Convenience. That's all it is, and owners think they are getting a better wiper. Would it look right on a '63 split window? Quote Link to comment
