Buried in your Datsun or bequeathed?

Recommended Posts

Hey, so just curious... when you die or become incapacitated... What will you do with your Datsun? I'm a Hospice counselor so these morbid thoughts are not foreign to me. People have a multitude of last wishes & specific requests to be carried out when they go. So, in regards to your Datsun... what's yours?

LOL. I've thought about it for years!

originally my plan was to be buried in my f10. but I looked into it and its a lot of headache and hassle. you gotta buy an extra big plot, the car needs a bunch of enviro crap done and most graveyards wont allow it anyway. the idea of leaving it to a family member is good but I know nobody in my family loves it as much as I do anyway. so I figure I might just have a metal worker make my coffin out of it and get buried with the shift knob in my hand.

I will probably procrastinate until the decision is out of my hands. But I do hear what you are saying Matt, once you are gone you won't care and it won't matter.... to you at least. You could take the load off others you leave behind. Hell you may even make someone very happy by willing it to them. Maybe that kid down the street that may grow up to be like you if he had one.

I will just let my sons have all my shit before i'm dead. I already told them that.

Hell except for my tools they could probably have it all now,  as long as they kept it till i didn't even know who they were in the first place.

OK...If I had the money & was all the way crazy instead of half crazy...

I think I'd stipulate in my will that a caretaker would wash & polish my wagon, rattlecan the top every time it starts peeling up again, do regular, loving maintenance, & take her to all the meets & local Cruise Nites she's enjoyed since she's owned me.

She deserves it

I have already turned down an all cash $20,000 offer [by a Japanese after market parts manufacturer] on my RL411.  I explained to the offerer that I bought it new and that my son would be the second owner.  He has been lusting after it since he was 16 and he deserves it !

Corrected to show initial offer amount.

Have thought about this occasionally and am not really sure.  Buried in it like Willy the Wimp (Stevie Ray Vaughn song)....uh no.  I have no kids so uh, no.  Maybe a niece or nephew....oh fuck that.  Maybe a museum....well, I should do something pretty soon as I am no spring chicken. Cough, wheeze, cough.

Man... I'd take any Datsun any time AND depending on its condition, drive it, restore it, keep it, or use the parts as long as the watch keeps ticking- I have plenty of room for them all. Then, let the family decide what they wanna keep to themselves, but again, making a clause in the will of which ones they can't sell;... since I have no kids. If I had plenty of kids I'd love to pass them all down to each one of them, but until then... Lol
