Datsun 510 brake lights out

I was installing Deluxe taillights on my 510, to find out I have no brake lights. I have everything else(turn signals, lights) BUT the brakes. Any grounds I should be aware of other than the one in the back? I've already checked my fuse box for the horn relay, looks fine. Was thinking my brake switch gave up.

Is the fuse actually good? Does the horn work? Check the switch for continuity.

Yeah, the 20 amp glass fuse doesn't look popped, I've never had a horn even when I had the car but the brakes were working when I didn't have one either. Will check the switch, just thought I might be missing something important

Test or replace the fuse. Sometimes they blow at the end and you can't tell. Buy a box at harbor freight. Cheap and they'll last you forever.

Replaced all fuses, I did check the switch, theirs power going to the green/yellow, when pressing the brake, both sides of the switch have power, but still no lights coming on.

Btw I had a guy who "redid" my wiring, but completely fuck it up, and the color wires for certain parts of the car are different, so bare with me. I did manage to resolder from front dash wiring back together, but not the wires going to the back of the car.

First.... were your brake lights ever working???? Because now you tell us it was re wired and fucked up. So how can we trouble shoot this???

Check your connectors... do you have a split in your harness leading to the back?

You can check the plugs there for a brake signal ? If the switch does work just follow the signal as far as you can till you loose it... It's probably a corroded plug...
