Remove dust cap Front wheel bearing

I got some new shiny ones to replace my beat up rusty ones.  But how they come off?  Can I just pry them off?

Hey dp..... getting them off isn't to bad.... screwdriver or something to pry them off.... I've read somewhere to use wire not sure how that works...

Getting the new ones on now that's fun.... I ruined my first set .

I just got 2 more.... size seems to match the old ones bit they are a tight fit..

I was gonna find a piece of pipe or something to sit on the outer edge to get it to go in... I used my rubber mallet on the dome last time and dented it all to shit..... curious to see how you make out.... where did you buy yours?

Ebay way of Taiwan.    My stockers are all beat to shit  and it looks like someone hammered them on as well. 

 

I guess they make a driver but like you said an appropriate size pipe or 3/4" socket should work as well.

3/4" drive not socket lol. No idea what size socket it would be but it would be BIG.

Title adjusted. All mine have a small rubber 'O ring' on them and I just lightly hammer them on. You should never run them without hub caps or discs so really doesn't matter if dented.

Leave your guns at home son, you are not dealing with amateurs here.  Use a pair of channel lock pliers to remove and a proper blade punch to install them.

When your girl friends tits and ass get as old as your 521, they won't be nice and round anymore either!!!   LOL

I suggest you clear them before install. If like mine they are cheaply plated and will eventually rust.

Used a roll of electric tape and a hammer. Maybe use old one and hammer?

what diam is the flat edge of the cap? like 1.5in? Try to find a piece of plastic pipe that fits

I measures mine and a 2 1/8 id pipe is what should slip over the dome....

52mm or 2.04" are the dimensions that mine are on the 72'
