Motownmanglers
Well , I've straightened out the vac lines and it doesn't run any worse! Actually, runs pretty good... But the vent line running from the carb to the canister is broken off at the carb. Like, nada. Just the vent hose ending with a small pic of metal tube that is supposed to be attached to the front of the carb... that little vent coming off the carb doesn't look replaceable? Is it's? I can't find a part number/diagram for it Ideas? ...yes, JB weld that sucker on has been tossed my way... Thx 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
It's just for collecting gas fumes, JB weld it on and you're good. 3 Quote Link to comment
Brandon.fair
Is it a clean break or it the hole deformed? Quote Link to comment
captain720
The gas fumes just go back to the tank in an attempt to improve mileage and meet 80s U.S. regs. Just jb weld and make it look ugly and barely functional. It isn't a big thing just make it not leak, too much. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The gas fumes are collected by the charcoal canister, as are fumes from the tank, and stored when the engine is shut off. When the engine is started a vacuum signal (usually the vacuum advance) is used to open the purge valve on the canister. The purge is connected to the intake and vacuum draws the stored fumes into the engine to be burned. Quote Link to comment
