hi guys ! i'm in mid wilshire , but the truck is often in hawthorne , and sometimes at the sr20 store , which is a nice shop !

i have many plans for the truck , first boost up a bit the engine, change the rear axle to something with lsd , custom interior, and better suspension !

there's a picture

yep i thought about the toyota axles , or i saw that the pathfinder axle also works , right ?

so the goal for the truck is like the guy who sold it to me , have fun offroad , but still be able to be a daily driver

the sr is reliable , i'll tune it to around 250hp and then with better suspension it should be fun enough in pismo !

i also want a nice custom interior cause right now it's a mess , by the way is it impossible to find a dashboard in good shape or at leat the gauge cluster , i looked i can't find anything !!

one solution if you guys are interested , i could scan a nice cluster and redesign it , and 3dprint it .. cause that's my job !

but i need one in one piece ...

The h233b from pathfinders/v6 hardbodies is a tough axle but not much aftermarket support. Gearing is almost completely limited to 4.3:1 and lower gears. They do cone with a factory clutch lsd that can be stacked to change the breakaway torque.

Pathfinders are 4 link rear ends, but always have lsd, and some have disc brakes. Hardbodies are leaf spring, and i THINK the spring pads are the correct distance apart, but that's not a promise. They only sometimes have lsd, and never had rear disc.

The parts can be combined between versions to create whatever you want. Just don't go newer than 95.

After 95 (r50 pathfinder) the lsd is so weak you HAVE to restack to make worth anything and it's about 3.5 inches wider (or more) than your axle.

all right thanks for the advice , so which toyota axle should i be looking for ?

i can have a friend weld anything on it , i just want something with a good LSD and also higher gearing , since the big tires make it toooo long , i don't even use 5th gear !

thanks guys

Depends on how wide of a track width you want. A late 70's axle housing would be the narrowest. The diffs all fit the same other than some grinding to install the factory e-locker if you go that route.

There's also the landcruiser axles but they are pretty heavy.

Toyota 4x4 axle WMS widths are as follows:

79-85......................55" wide

86-95......................58.5" wide

95.5-2004 Tacoma..60" wide

You can't really run a Land Cruiser axle because the diff is offset.

A Detroit TruTrac would be pretty close to a LSD and they don't have clutches to wear out or burn up. They are about $500 new.
