njoz1200ute
Anyone know why my caliper bolt spacing is off by 8mm compared to the new ones that just came from RockAuto? New calipers arrived in the mail Did I order the wrong ones?Bolt spacing is 8 millimeters too short and it does not Center itself on the rotor Attach file: 20170502_160015-600x800.jpg (124.67 KB) 20170502_160210-600x800.jpg (135.16 KB) 13419_5908e8a81d2ee.jpg (46.90 KB) Quote Link to comment
njoz1200ute
My struts I were told are from a Aussie 120y if that helps (yes I imported them), not sure what year. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Two most obvious answers: 1. RockAuto sent you the wrong shit (been known to happen). 2. Aussie 120Y uses calipers that were never sold on a USDM car. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
3/ they are not aussie 120Y struts. What is the distance between holes center to center??? 1 Quote Link to comment
Doctor510
75.36mm just like the caliper shows. He used the right edge to right edge method, it's a lot more accurate. Quote Link to comment
njoz1200ute
Arggggghhhhhhh So frusterating. Apparently some 120ys had a caliper bracket and some did not. Impossible to tell if this is even a 120y strut or B310 or 1200 I have old cruddy brakes that came with the struts but they dont even seem to fit right either. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
PL510 and HL510 are 76mm although different calipers. I don't know if they would fit your rotor or not. 1 Quote Link to comment
njoz1200ute
Yes but I don't need calipers that are 75 millimeters. That's what they sent me I need calipers that are 83 millimeters Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Still nothing... 89mm are 280zx and S110. Obviously these are somewhere below this. 1 Quote Link to comment
njoz1200ute
It is from Datsun Sunny 1976-1978 54303-H7405 STRUT, LH AMPCO was a Datsun factory supplier B210 used many different strut part numbers, but they look mostly identical. Those that start with H10/H50 have the small stub axle/large bearings, and those that start with H74 have the large stub axle/small bearings What was the US version of the 1976 Sunny? Impossible to tell if this is even a 120y strut or B310 or 1200 They are NOT B310. I can promise you that. In the US, only the 1200 used bolts and nuts to hold it onto the steering arm. Everything else used threaded holes in the strut base and just bolts (no nuts). Also, the B310 used the larger lower bolt spacing, a la 510/610/710/A10/280ZX. Quote Link to comment
njoz1200ute
Good info DF. Looks like im up shits creek. 1. Get my aussie brakes stripped and rebuilt. Make them work somehow so they center on the rotor. 2. Scrap my new suspension / steering. Buy a swap like possibly 280zx struts and new brakes. Quote Link to comment
