fern01
Having problems with my drive shaft on my 620 pick up was told the bearing was rounded out and I may need to rebuild the whole thing. He said it was gunna be about 300 anybody have experience with this? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I imagine the problem is vibration under load? The bearing seldom goes bad but the rubber surround does rot away. For $300 you could buy a whole new drive shaft. The replacement kit is much less... if you can find one. Take it to another shop, they will likely tell you a different story. Probably this rubber isolation doughnut... Or do you mean the U joint? There are three of them about $30 each. 1 Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
Either way $300 sounds about right if you go that route... Thats what it cost me for a full recondition of my 521 driveshaft.. Labor, 3 ujoints, new carrier bearing, and balanced.... they should be balancing it too for that price... Side note if you have to separate the driveshaft at all after balance it has to go back together the same way it was balanced 1 Quote Link to comment
Scgreen620
If your drive shaft has given you problems several times you should replace but if it's your first time just buy "u" joints Quote Link to comment
