New member ! Long time 720 owner

Hello everyone...finally joined the community! Had my 1984 Nissan since I got it in 1985 except for a few years that my uncle had it, didn't take care of it, and then gave it back mostly rusted out and not running. Little Yellow is now all restored again....almost sold it a few months ago since I hardly ever drove it, but fixing it back up to get it ready to sell and driving it again made me decide to keep it.

Thanks ! It's actually the 2.4 that came in the truck originally. The cowl on the hood was needed to clear the engine since I dropped the body 6" but kept the stock frame and only lowered the suspension about an inch. the top of the engine actually sits up into the cowl, lol

OK, so you did a 6 inch body drop, I missed that statement, I just read you dropped the truck 6 inches, it makes sense now.

The truck is a counter-diction, 4X4 stuff on a low rider, don't get me wrong, it looks good, the best of both worlds.

Looks good, thanks for joining. I really like the 4wd accessories on the slammed 2wd, also non rusted through pre 84 beds are my favorite.

Thanks Caption720 ! Yes, the bed was completely rusted through when I got it back as they all seem to do. Had to make new side panels and cut out all of the rust. That's why I ended up bobbing the bed cause I had it all the panels off anyway.

How hard was the bed repair? I have one that is rusted through too.

I actually wasn't too bad, the bends go across the length of the panels for the most part. The only trouble areas were the bends met the wheel well as it was hard get them perfect. I added the fender flares to cover the edges up and it worked

Man I can't help but like the way that came out.. even the hood, all the stuff you did just seems to work on that truck.. I love the engine bay too...

Thanks, yep, some folks don't like it 'cause they said I went too far with the hood and the engine bay...made it look too much like a toy truck, but hey...to each his own I guess !! Everybody takes pictures of it when I'm out and about and it got a top 5 award in the open class at the Nashville Nissan Z car show the other day, lol. I guess I just need to buy a Hot Wheels window sticker and put it on it, ha,ha. The fun part was actually restoring it and body dropping it anyway...and of course driving it around. Rough roads are definitely no fun now !
