millican
After three winters in upstate NY, the Datsun is still going. Salt ate the brake cable, exhaust pipe, and some wiring, but with some easy repairs to those, it was able to make the 1300-mile drive to Ocean Springs, MS, averaging 35mpg for the trip. Then it was put to work moving a bunch of books and tools from the ABF terminal to a storage unit. 2 Quote Link to comment
wayno
Must be a diesel to get that kind of mileage. Quote Link to comment
captain720
That is what I was going to ask wayno. Quote Link to comment
millican
Yes. It has an SD22 and only around 650lbs of weight in the back for the road trip - things that couldn't really go into a U-Pack container. Quote Link to comment
wayno
35mpg is good, I have only done that once ever when I drove 50/55mph to Eugene once, I only got 29mpg on the way back, I just had to go 70mph. I did get 39.2mpg in my Mini going 80mph to Renton and back, just think what I could have got if I had drove the speed limit. Quote Link to comment
