Weber adapter plate L16 620

Hey everyone, Im having trouble with my weber 32/36 dgv swap. I'm trying to get the right adapter plates. I have a 1973 620 with an L16 which was only put in the 1972-73's. So online at weber carbs direct: http://www.webercarbsdirect.com/product-p/wk657.htm this is the earliest carb for Datsun 620's. It's made for 1974+ on L18's and L20's.

I've been working around this, I used to have adapter plates on but they were trashed and started giving me vacuum leaks and other issues. So I ordered adapter plates for the 620 from wcd and I got the single plate adapter kit. (The ones I just had on were two plates, one oval hole in the center) It's got 2 holes  that look like they should match up to the carb and my engine. But the hole are maybe millimeters off. I don't remember where I got the 2 plates before, but I can't use them now.

Has anyone else run into issues with the L16 weber swaps?

*Will post pictures of the mis-matching holes tonight...

On more than one engine not remembering what intake they were being l16 or l20b I've had to hog out the holes on the carb towards each other to get the carb to slide down on the studs. These were factory direct carb kits from weber that were supposed to be plug and play. I never took pics but reading around years ago told me most people never had this problem and didn't know what I was talking about.

Now that I think about it once was on a friends l18 once was my l20b and once was my l16. I never took pics of this problem.

Thank you all so much, I'll take a look at the Top Performance place. With the other adapters I won't have to file the carb holes. But I'll have to make sure they weren't causing any of my problems to begin with... if I didn't mention, I am new to all of it.

It is good to know that filing them toward the correct holes won't cause any harm, so my thought process was on track!

Also gonna grab that sealer tomorrow.

Don't want to throw this too far off topic... but does anyone have any other warning/suggestion of bumps in the road with this swap?

Yeah I've been dealing with Top End for years, Steve and Jeff are great! It's so much easier and less hassle going with the Cannon intake than dealing with that adapter. As for the sealer, check out Gasgacinch. It's far less messy than rtv and it basically glues everything together and you can remove parts and put them back on with no additional application of Gasgacinch: The stuff is awesome! Good luck!

Sounds awesome! I have some headed to my parts store now, and just ordered the 2 plate adapter kit from Top End. Thinking this will be my best option for where Im at right now.

Great! I'm glad they were able to help you. And I'm sure the Gasgacinch will work out for you: It's all I use.
