bed liner for the interior?

Recommended Posts

Anyone ever use bedliner in the interior of your dime? Say like Al's HNR and then a bedliner top coat? I just laid down some Al's HNR on the firewall and the front pans, but debating to run some bedliner on top of it as a top coat.

Thoughts?

DIY bedliner is commonly done in Samurais and Jeeps. It works well to reduce some noise and somewhat keep water that enters from just sitting on the metal and rusting. It works reasonably well. For noise reduction, it takes a lot...not just a few spray cans.

A mix of Dynamat and spray would be more ideal.

Using bedliner works for deadener because it adds mass. Yes it helps, but it's considered pretty inefficient by sound guys. There are significantly better options that won't cost much more than the bedliner.

Lizard skin makes a bedliner-esqu roll on sound deadener. Mass loaded vinyl is excellent for adding mass efficiently. Isolation layers will help as well.
