AlexDeLarge
I want to get a weber 32/36 to replace the stock carb on my 74 620 but I am not a experienced mechanic. However, I can follow directions well. I have searched and searched online for a guide or tutorial with a step by step and have not really found anything that would make me confortable with doing the job. I want to install the manual choke version and am unsure if I need a fuel pressure regulator as well. If anyone knows of a good thorough step by step with pictures or maybe someone could create one as a sticky here I would greatly appreciate it. Quote Link to comment
hobospyder
no fpr is needed. i just put a 32/36 into my 76 long bed. if you buy a redline setup it's really simple. bolt the adapter plates on, bolt the weber to the adapter plates. you gotta do something with the gaskets in the process and put some locktite on the bolts holding the adapter plates so they don't back out and cause a vacuum leak though. i honestly don't know if there's a step by step process but instructions came with the first weber i bought. would have to wander down to the shop to see if they're in the box from redline. datzenmike
If a new Weber you won't need a FPR for it. A manual choke just adds to the complexity. Electric chokes seldom go bad and there's nothing to set or turn off by hand. I would get the electric choke and the idle cut solenoid. You should get used to trying our search function. If it's been thought of or done, someone probably posted about it. All I did was type "Weber install"....... http://community.ratsun.net/topic/56764-i-love-my-weber-38-dges-heres-my-38-dges-install/ http://community.ratsun.net/topic/48566-how-to-put-a-weber-3236-on-that-shaggin-waggon/ http://community.ratsun.net/topic/50258-1979-510-l20b-weber-install/ http://community.ratsun.net/topic/35288-weber-3236-dgev-install-help/ http://community.ratsun.net/topic/57347-intake-manifold-overflowing-problem-after-installing-weber-help/ Quote Link to comment

Rick-rat
I prefer a manual choke myself, just make sure you get a REAL Weber (made in Spain) not a Chinese piece of crap that has a Weber sticker on it Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Manual chokes.... making cars harder to steal since EFI came out. 1 Quote Link to comment
hobospyder
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00449TQQ2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 i picked this up and installed it in a day. has everything you need for the 32/36 dgv install into a 620. i didn't have to put the adapter plates on because i was replacing a different weber that was a little too large for the motor. comes with choke cable and all. might want to buy a different throttle linkage set, i still haven't figured out how to attach the one that's on there yet. choke cable just run it through the firewall in a premade hole (i popped out a grommet) and attach where you want Quote Link to comment
distributorguy
Make sure you adjust the float height and drop when you install it. They do NOT stay in adjustment during shipping. . They barely stay in adjustment with fuel in the bowl, driving the truck down the road. Quote Link to comment

distributorguy
Italy had a good reputation. The casting are also reproduced in China, if they're not all made there now. Redline Weber has a reputation for selling cheap non-Weber Webers. You can spot them a mile away from all the aluminum in the castings (less zinc) - they look shinier and sort of chrome-like, similar to VW reproduction parts (also Chindia's finest.) They still say Weber on them and come in a Weber box. A more reputable shops would be Pierce Manifolds in CA, as they actually install and tune the carbs they sell so they have to work properly. AlexDeLarge
Damn this is confusing... The Amazon link that hobospyder gave has the country of origin as China. This seller on ebay is saying his is the real deal. What do you guys say? http://m.ebay.com/itm/Weber-32-36-DGV-Manual-Choke-conversion-kit-fits-Datsun-510-610-620-Pickup-/271280922121?cmd=VIDESC Quote Link to comment
