My 1975 Datsun 280z

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm new here and would like to share my story on how I got to own my 280z.

But first let me introduce myself, My name is Justin, I'm 24 and medically retired U.S Army.and live on U.S territory called Guam. My list of cars I own are 2002 Supercharged S2000, Honda civic 1989 EF & 1990 H2B Swap in a Crx.

I am the 2nd owner of this car with 81k miles on it with cold AC! I know right? well this is how I found this gold on the island I live. For the past 3 months I've been helping an old man cut his yard and feed his dogs for him. He is too old to do it himself so my friends and I would go there every once in a while to help him. Well one day I was putting things away in his garage and saw a car covered up. I had asked him about it and he told me he was the first owner of the car and to my surprise he asked if I wanted to see it. The look on my

face when I had seen what kind of car it was in well maintained condition. Long story short I had asked him if he would be interested in selling it and he told me he will sell it to me for $5,000 to pay off whats left of his debt.

This car drives like a dream, OEM everything except for a aftermarker player and just two days ago I had put on my SSR longchamps on them. My plans will be to do a new paint job of the oem color to attack the rust thats starting to surface, the car was in a AC garaged all its life.

Life aint bad at all, pretty small with alot of stuff like America has, we have military bases and what not.
Paradise to me and definitely a neck breaker when I drive my s2000 and 280z around.

I'd say theres only 4 Datsun Z;s on island, one being in nissan dealerships showcase selling for $95,000 (240z with about 100 miles on it)

Thats pretty amazing condition considering the heat, humidity and strong typhoons you get there. Hope you've got a garage to keep it in. Would love to see a picture of the one in the Nissan showroom. If I ran an a/c in my garage 24/7 i would hate to see my electric bill.

usps flat rate shipping boxes are great for heavy parts from the mainland usa.

Thank you to everyone who commented.

I've been very busy with college and just finished my course and the fact I just picked up a 1992 rhd Rx7 where most of build was focused.

I will begin getting the Z painted to attack some surface rust,
I'm not sure if I should keep original paint or change it to the gold looking paint, and will be removing the front and rear bumpers.

Anyone know where to get air suspension or a set of coilovers? just want the car low. sorry to the purist out there who will get angry.
