That4doorKiD
What's up guys can anyone tell me if I can put my FPR in the back of my car near the gas tank and electric fuel pump. I KNOW it has to be between the fuel pump and carb. Has anyone done this before or had their regulator all the way in the back? I searched it up and it's all mixed answers. I read some people say it's fine and some people that it needs to be as close to the carb as possible. Thanks.! -Jacob Quote Link to comment
willz
Why would you not want it in the engine bay? Is this an adjustable FPR? 1 Quote Link to comment
Dolomite
I try to replicate as close to factory conditions when dealing with anything fuel or electricity related. I've only seen regulators in the engine bay so that's how I'd do it, not sure if it matters though. Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
I would think it would only matter if you were using a return line style regulator. If you're using a good Holley type regulator, then I would say it doesn't matter where it is. Just don't mount it on the engine. I saw this in a magazine the other day and I laughed. Why would anyone put it so close to a heat source like that? 1 Quote Link to comment
hang_510
I found that having the holley regulator far(trunk) from the carbs made it difficult to maintain the set pressure for my webers. Moved regulator to the engine bay, problem solved. 1 Quote Link to comment
distributorguy
Look at what the lines do. The line from the pump to the regulator carries high pressure, high volume fuel. The line from the regulator to the carbs carries low pressure, thus a lower volume of fuel. Keep that low pressure line as short as possible to reduce potential fuel starvation issues.
