shiftys19399
I recently replaced the head on my 620 L20B valves, rockers, springs, etc. the whole 9 yards. when i took the old one off, i did it complete with exhaust and intake. now i am putting it back on and i kinda was wondering if it is possible to install the exhaust and intake one by one or do i need to take the head off again and do it the way it came off.(i am aware i should have done it that way now, hoping to learn but not the hard way). any help would be much appreciated. datzenmike
The bottom row of studs (4) grip both the intake and the exhaust manifolds using 'cone' shaped washers to bridge across. It's a little easier to install them on the head and then install everything on the block but only just easier. A swivel headed socket, I hear, is the way to do it. Quote Link to comment
kelowg
Trick is put bottom washers and nuts just barely on(loose) before putting manifolds into place. Then yes swivel socket and ur good to go. Otherwise u likely will go bat shit crazy trying to get those nuts on. Quote Link to comment
