A series goodies, Who can say no to that? If you're just going to junk it, send it all my way

I'll toss it all in a box for you.

I also have a gas door if you want it/don't take Kelmo up on his offer. I also have a few interior pieces from my sedan if you need anything, although I don't remember the colour or condition, might get lucky.

I think Kelmo has me covered.

Only thing interior I would probably want/need right now is a rear set upper. Dash is going bye-bye, and I'll probably make some door panels if I can't find a nice set.

Had a free evening, so I got to work on stripping the engine bay...

Grill and headlight doors out, condenser out, all wiring and plumbing removed from the engine bay...

Engine is ready to come out now. Hoping to get that done on Saturday...

Wait a minute, so you finished already and now you're trying to sale it? LOL!

Please don't mention this car...

It was on craigslist for $600. I called the owner 15 minutes after he listed it, went to look at it 45 minutes later, and it sold before I got there.   :crying:

And the butthole that bought it did nothing but rub out the paint and then listed it two days later at $3000.

What a dick.

Anyway, you mentioned the dash is coming out. What's your plan for that, curious because I happened to see a carbon fiber dash for one over here.

Meant to pull the engine out, but decided more de(con)struction was in order instead...

Of note, there seems to be some stuff missing already...

Umm...

More sins/kludges of the previous owner...

It was a pain in the butt, but I will not be defeated...

Interesting side note: on the B110 and B210 the dash is sandwiched between the column and column support bracket. On a B310, the support bracket is sandwiched between the column and dash. So the captured nuts are in the dash, not in the support. This is bad...   ^_^

Went to the spare bolt bin and found some nuts to hold the column up, and here's where we ended. All wiring now removed except the tail lights, door pin switch and dome light...

I think the car lost maybe 50 pounds today...

In fact, I'd swear it's an inch higher now than when I started...    ^_^

Hopefully next time the engine will come out, and then it's time for a good bath...

What are the specs on those wheels and tires? And where can I get some

Wheels are 14x7 -12 Bassett Racing wheels. I got mine from Jeg's. Tires are 165/55-14 Federal Formoza FD1. I bought them from Tires-Easy, but you can also get them on ebay.

I originally bough them for my 1200 coupe, but have since switched to the exact same wheel in a 14x8 -12 with 185/50-14 tires (wanted a wider footprint).

If I keep these on the 210 (which is possible) I will probably switch to a 185/55-14 to better suit the bigger 210. But who knows...

Stared looking for a place in the storage room to put my new gas door where I wouldn't lose it, then it hit me...   ^_^

17757082_10154651616652983_5465583157074

Looking at the car I realized it wasn't racecar enough, so I yanked out the column...

17626437_10154651617512983_2363600823914

Then took off the ignition switch. This is much easier on the bench because you can use a Dremel to cut a slot in the screws not meant to come out, then they spin right out...

17458186_10154651616882983_3270764460372

Then I went to Smiley's and got one of these...

17424870_10154651616952983_8022573386356

As per usual, the hole in the quick release bit is too big for the column...

17499005_10154651617302983_1400599696656

So how we normally fix that is, we take the hexagonal nut and make it round...

17629681_10154651617542983_7001675767853

Then using the drill press we machine out the center of the quick release a bit...

17554582_10154651617602983_3580565890680

Then hammer the nut into it...

17626323_10154651617992983_8047903142752

Then spin it on...

17626455_10154651617802983_6396006289156

Then beg your buddy to weld it on for you...

17626635_10154651617877983_5318782134833

Did a bit of filing on the tip to round it off a bit. Then painted the tip, and put a little grease on the rest. Resist the urge to paint the rest, because it just makes it hard to get the steering wheel on later, and when you do it scratches all the paint off anyway...    ^_^

17626312_10154651618122983_8067763737277

Column bolted back in, wheel popped on, and it seems to be on there straight to boot.

17425815_10154651618482983_7057714361278

Since the plan all along was to do a basic flat steel dash, I thought we'd play around with the stock one a bit. I have a 1200 dash to use (easier to make flat), but we figured why not see if we can make this one work, since it bolts right in and all...    :P

Blown part...

17629707_10154651616842983_5829979064885

14 screws later (wtf?) and the pad is off...

17626264_10154651618497983_8663104131462

Damn shame as the pad isn't half bad...

17626400_10154651618257983_2356160051496

Dash is a very odd shape but I noticed the basic structure is close to flat. So out came the cut off wheel...

17626672_10154651618162983_2538961408835

Now with all the brackets and bits cut off, it's much closer to flat...

17457555_10154651618442983_8991854513122

We have a few ideas on how to finish it out, so stay tuned...

Hey, worst case I toss it in the bin and use a 1200 dash, so...

My college girlfriend had a 2-door notch back 210.  This was just as I was getting into Datsuns in the late '80s.  Sometimes wish I'd hung on to that one.  Fun to drive and mess around under the hood... and the car was kinda nice too.
