lightz
Hi, Guy, I just wondering if a 240z steering wheel fit on a 520, has any one done it, does it just bolts up or is there thing needs to be done to get out on, please any one. Thanks Quote Link to comment

lightz
tdaaj, Thanks for response, today i removed the 520 steering wheel and when i tried to install the z wheel it felt really snugged and didn't force it, as i alway beak a lot of my stuff. Thats why had to ask the question Quote Link to comment
tdaaj
As lpng as it's the z wheel it will, but theres a b210 variant that won't, shaft is smaller on the 1000, b110, b210 and b310 I believe. Quote Link to comment
Tucson620
Did this recently for my 521 - I guess same spline size/count? A bit of a project - technically a 280z horn pad adapted to a 240z wheel on 521 truck. Not a straight bolt on, had to do a few things, fiddle with horn wires for functional install. A few points: Check mklotz blue hands videos on datsun steering wheel adaptation - the info is out there! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axND-n_tx-k (mklotz your link doesn't seem to work on your web site: http://www.bluehandsinc.com/steering-column-mods.html) 240Z wheel is deeper dish and changes ergos. Actually works better for me - I'm tall/skinnyish and allows greater knee freedom in driving position compared to stock wheel. But definitely closer reach now. Truck wheels are recessed at mounting point, slide closer to instrument collar. 240z wheels are not recessed like this. Turn signal cancel doesn't work unless you address this, plus leaves ugly gap. My solution was to re-drill the turn signal collar indexing hole on the steering shaft - move it 5/8" or so out towards wheel. This closes up the gap, allows turn signals to work. I think I had to use a washer too for tight wheel fit. Truck and 240z turn signal cancel posts are offset 90 degrees on the back of wheel - i.e. one is top/bottom, other is left/right. But still works fine - in this case signals cancel 90 degrees earlier than stock. Installed - horn and turn signals work, position fine for me. Turn signal collar hole moved approx. 5/8" to close gap to wheel hub - looks nice now, works fine.
