cooprasupra
Just curious if anyone else has dealt with repairing these, did a fair amount of searching and could not find anything related enough. Right now I'm thinking the best option is jb weld or some sort of epoxy. Any advice would be appreciated. Quote Link to comment
wayno
Most of us don't pay that much attention, it happens inside the door also. All mine likely look like that, and I have no issues, so I just ignore the issue. Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
There is a thread started by Rick-rat that gets a bit heated. He used a product called Goop. After 6 months he reported it worked fine. There were lots of opinions expressed there though. It's either in the body section or the how to section. Quote Link to comment

wayno
Here is the thread Lockleaf mentioned. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/68832-hood-cross-brace/ Use PB blaster or some other lube on that wonky locked up hinge before it bends the hood. :) 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
You have a bigger issue than the under hood ribbing. Quote Link to comment

Rick-rat
Goop won't fix this, needs some welding done to it, looks like the latch in the front is broken loose from the pic, also the last pic where the brace is in front of the mounting holes needs a little TLC Quote Link to comment

flatcat19
That buckle you have in the third pic...I have that on both sides of my hood. About 3 or 4 inches away from the cowl? Been like that for a while. Doesn't feel goofy when I open or close hood. Does that make your hood bend at all? Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
This came out of RickRat's thread. http://brownsautosupply.com/product/prf-305ml-urethane-sealer-adhesive-black/ You don't want to use JB weld or weld it....at least not where the panel meets the cross brace(where the original adhesive was). It's has to be a bit flexible. JB will let loose or crack and welding will ruin the panel. The tears can be carefully tig welded, but with the rust around the area, you'd be hard pressed to get it clean enough. Use that sealer/adhesive to glue the panel to the cross brace and you should be good to go.....just make sure you fix your hing first. 1 Quote Link to comment
DanielC
Use seam sealer to make blobs of adhesive to reattach the struts to the hood. Quote Link to comment

cooprasupra
Seems like I got what I need in the way of the hood. Anyone got any tips about the locked up hinge? Seems pretty unremovable to me Quote Link to comment
