Cardinal Grammeter
QUESTION: Can I use the Mitsu w/o connecting the single connector? Autozone has the 14105 $34 lifetime alternator. However you will either get a Hitachi or Mitsubishi variant. The "proper" Mitsu has the same connectors as the Hit: the "T" connector, Bat, and Ground I got one with an extra single blade connector at the diode vent area - this connector has a port for a clip to snap in just like the "T" connector The pulley depth was wrong too (too fat outward.) I called the 800 tech line and they said to use it and don't worry about the single blade connector. Other alternators I have purchased have sheets explaining different wiring schemes such as not connecting stuff - this alternator had no such sheet. Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
Re 800 tech line advice. Get them to put it in writing! Snail or E mail, in case the advice was wrong. "Trust but first verify!" Quote Link to comment
DanielC
Wrong pulley depth, wrong electrical connections, probably the wrong alternator. Quote Link to comment
abbylind
Simplfied answer.... The original machine had a base plate of pre-famulated amulite surmounted by a malleable logarithmic casing in such a way that the two spurving bearings were in a direct line with the panametric fan. The latter consisted simply of six hydrocoptic marzlevanes, so fitted to the ambifacient lunar waneshaft that side fumbling was effectively prevented. The main winding was of the normal lotus-o-delta type placed in panendermic semi-boloid slots of the stator, every seventh conductor being connected by a non-reversible tremie pipe to the differential girdle spring on the "up" end of the grammeters............ datzenmike
$34 ????? Lifetime warranty??? After the 5th one and you've payed for yet another tow home and lost time at work you'll see what a $34 alternator is really worth. The 'real' Hitachi for the Datsun is around $250. You truly get what you pay for. Quote Link to comment
Cardinal Grammeter
abbeyfind, I couldn't have said it better  datzenmike, I know you know I'm a world class cheapskate, right? (main reason I learned to weld...) In my defense: It doesn't have an internal voltage regulator so I'm willing to take a chance on diodes and bearings. Still, I'd like to know what that other terminal is. If it's Sense, then that would be cool and I'd add the circuit. I couldn't find a letter near that connector, but I didn't look that hard. Quote Link to comment
Hrvat9
I just did a mitsu galant 4g63t alt in my 620 and it was almost a perfect fit. Quote Link to comment
Cardinal Grammeter
Hrvat9, Do you have a year and engine displacement and SOHC vs DOHC vs Turbo for lookup on RockAuto? (or a part number from where you bot it if from a box store.) Thanks Tom Quote Link to comment

If you find a eagle talon in the junkyard they have that same engine. The year though would be 90s , not exactly sure which year. I only used it because it was what I had and luckily fit very nicely ! Quote Link to comment
distributorguy
You'll find that many alternators fit nicely on our engine. How many dollars worth of parts and labor go into a $34 rebuild? How many dollars worth of headache will it cause? You're better off with a known good used unit. Quote Link to comment
