I go to the wrecking yards and find a mid 90s Mazda SUV with the proper shaped/profile gaskets and use them, I try to get 2 passenger door seals as they are interchangeable and the passenger sides are always in good shape, I cut them at the top rear 90 degree corner of the door at a 45 degree angle and go all the way around and cut the other end at a 45 degree angle also and it looks great, best part is it is cheap.

If you can find a mid 80s Mazda 2000/2200 with good door gaskets, they are an exact fit, they look like the same gasket as a 521 to me.

It's in my head, but most of everything I know about Datsuns is somewhere in one of my threads in case I forget, or other threads like Charlie69s 520 thread, I pass the info along I have if someone else is doing something I have already done, and they improve on my info a lot of the time, Charlie did his dash lights a better way than I did, then later I found even a better way because of something Jacob(Laecaon) said.

I got mine off eBay a while ago but be carefully. I found 3 different types. One goes on the door with little pop clips which I never had. Then one that goes on the frame of the cab and one that holds that piece in...

When I bought mine I bought this thinking it was a seal....

Then I found this...

First pic holds the seal... seems different from what I removed but seems like it will work .... all were listed as 521 door seals

If anyone can verify year of Mazda truck that would be super.

I'd rather buy new than scour the JY for a maybe.

This is what I wrote in my 1969 Datsun 521 thread.

I have not taken any Oics. yet, but i was amazed to find out that the early mazda B 2200 series pickup door seals are an exact match in length to the 521, they fit well on the lower part of the door, but around the window frame i'm not sure yet, i'll try to get Oics. tomarrow. wayno

I never got around to taking the photos and posting them of the Mazda seal, as I later figured out that the mid 90s Mazda SUV seals could be found in better condition, that is what I use on all my 520/521s now, and I seriously expect that one cannot get the 1985ish Mazda seal anymore either.
Here is the mid 80s Mazda 2200 seal.

Here is the mid 90s Mazda SUV seal, you have to find the right one with the correct profile.

I like these seals because they can be found easier, and they are in way better shape, especially the passenger side seals/gaskets which can be used for either side, they gip the seal mount great, and they are big enough to seal all the way around and long enough to go all the way around, the material might still be available also.

FWIW - Mazda b series trucks are ford rangers and suvs are explorers, so the ford versions likely work as well.

I realize they basically are the same truck, but the Ford Ranger trucks are different in many ways and that seal is different, as I recall it is a way larger seal/gasket.

I thought the same thing and thought we would have a buffet of seals to choose from, but it was not to be, the best thing out there I have found to this day is the mid 90s SUV seals, sorry it has been so long I don't remember which SUVs had the ones wanted, but every time I went to the wrecking yard I found at least one good one in the yard which was usually the passenger side seal/gasket.

I stand corrected. Good info, thanks wayno.

It's not about being corrected, I thought/assumed the same thing, and there are a shit load of Rangers in the yards around here(or there were), imagine my disappointment when they were not the same.

The mid 80s Mazda B2200 wingwindow seals/gaskets are the closet thing out there to the Datsun 320 wingwindow seals/gaskets also, and they can be made to work with quite a bit of effort, one needs the Mazda gasket and the door frame the gasket is in, should be fairly easy to use on an L320(steel frame), not so easy on the NL 320 as they have a stainless steel frame, not as easy to weld on, not sure that steel and stainless steel can be welded together either, but it would ruin the stainless steel anyway.
