Stoffregen Motorsports
Not meant towards you just in general with all the conflicting information. I went and measured my rallys, 15 x 8 w/4" of backspacing which would be -13mm offset. That's kind of my point. Back spacing measurements are taken from the outside of the wheel lip. Offset numbers are taken from wheel centerline. So if your wheel is a 15x8 with a 4" back spacing, then the wheel is not centered. Negative 13mm sounds right, assuming that the distance from the inner wheel lip to the outer edge of the wheel lip is .500". 1 Quote Link to comment
d.p
Offset to me is how much the wheel sits inside/flush/outside the fender well. An offset closer to 0 or less than zero (negative) means pushed out, positive means inside the fender and basically ugly and unwanted. :p 1 Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
So is there a cliff note version of this... Back space I get ... but what's the offset number? 13mm is about 1/2 right.. So is that in relation to the centerline of the rim or something? Just curious about what you guys are talking about... Offset is where the mounting surface is in relation to the centerline of the wheel. http://thesquealingtire.com/wheel-offset-and-backspace-explained/ Quote Link to comment
