Sooooo tempted! Quick talk me out of it. I need a fall car, which really would only get driven once maybe twice a month because I work at home, so those few instance where the wife has the Murano and I need to get some where.

 

Turns over. Won't start. I know nothing of Z car FI. Tell me that is its a nightmare, won't start in cold weather and I'd go deep in the hole $$$ and would wind up with yet another mouth to feed in the stable. Tell me I should just get a Honda, or if I want something slightly more useful, a Mazda, Toyota, Nissan pick-up to beat around in.

 

Whatever you do, don't tell me it is just a $5 fuel filter or $20 fuel pump stopping this round-eye awkward beauty from ruling the streets of New England. Or that the heater works. And that the brakes are probably fine. As are the floors under that carpet. And don't tell me that one little spot of rust they show is the only rust on the car. (Cause honestly, it is looking pretty solid.) And don't tell me they'd probably take $500 for it, because they HAVE to get rid of it and no one in New England but me cares about it, especially this time of year.

I imagine my Dustun supportive wife (I mean I have 3 510's and a 1959 and only ONE is on the street.)  would veto this purchase pretty fast, being that she thinks I should get something safe, with airbags, that the daughter can inherit in two years when she gets a license.

 

Which is probably good that she is a voice of reason, because I am not sure you mo-fo's will be. She is not a fan of park bench era Datsuns in general. I shudder to think of her expression when I show her this magnificent 810....

THing is I have the cash in my pocket for this. I sold some wheels, and I was going to maybe buy more wheels, not that I need them, lol. But if I am going to sink real money into something, it would be my 510s or 1959 Datsun.

 

There are few Datsuns I would drive in the winter. But a grandma 810 4-door with park bench bumpers, I just might. Don't think I'd do that to a 2-door or a wagon 810. Again it would probably see the street once or twice a month. I am rather a hermit. But I'd not drive it in sever weather.

 

This is rad enough, hell I could just keep riviting/welding patches over the holes and keep rolling it.

 

But lets be real. Been sitting 10 years, probably more, otherwise it would be way more rusted in New England. I bet the rear main seal is leaking, and every bit of rubber suspension needs to be replaced. See that guys, I started beating it up more, help me out, more abuse for the poor thing. Tell me how this bad ass neglected just weird enough for me to love it, 810 will ruin my life, so I don't pick up the phone. LOL.

More like it would put me out in the unheated garage to live with my Datsuns! But again, my wife has been really cool with the Datsun obsession, and my lack of driveway space proves it. So I don't want to rock the boat too hard. Though certainly I think there is room for one more, lol...
