Original tach with a ka24de

Have an original tach in my 72 goon with a ka24de swap, what do I have to do or get so the tach can work.?

I know this has probably been discussed a thousand times somewhere in the forum. Bare with me & my questions. Any info would help or point me in the right direction.

1992 is a s13 ... the 95 and newer s14 KA24DE's didn't have an external coil

 

I have a 91 s13 KA and used the thick 12ag blk/red main coil wire, going to the s13 coil, and ran it to my stock 710 in-series tach. There should be two thick wires on the back of your tach, which is really just one wire with a loop in it. So any power going to your coil has to go through the tach first.
