A 521 in Massachusetts

The good thing is I stuck the fenders on in anticipation of going and found out the passenger side fits like crap....

I say good because I haven't painted it yet..... so I should probably do the same with the doors before painting anything else...

I guess that's what happens as you fix and straighten things.....

Thats to funny... Ya it doesn't translate to well in the pic.... it's not much . But enough to bother me.. if you look at the driveside gap first then you see it. the passenger side of the truck looks like it got hit at one point in its life...

And plus the front corner isn't quite where it should be.... I don't feel it's gonna be to hard to get it where I need...

I'll post what I do to correct it.... my belief is where the fender bolts on along the hood line is bent....

When I look at where the fender bolts on its in the shape of an L bracket...

Seems like it's leaning out ever so slightly.... gonna try to make it more of a 90 degree angle.....

What scares me is what's he gonna be doing in 5 more years..

Plus even though he can ride a 2 wheel bike he keeps his smaller pedal bike with training wheels so he can practice wheelies..... oops that might be my fault.

What did you do when you were a kid?  LOL  Might be some of the stories should be censored until he is in his 30s!!!  LOL

I was restricted on what i could do as a child. I allow alot more than my mom ever let me do. .

My son is very confident and head strong we find it better to teach him and give him the knowledge to be safe..

It's when I'm not watching that worries me.... that's the times I want the knowledge I give him to kick in.....

Well since I hate body work and paint I decided to install a few things before I get back to work on the fenders and doors.

Got a headliner in.... sort of....

It's dynomat.... leaving it exposed.... seems to fit the build...

And I got the carpet rough cut, i was able to bolt the shifter boot down to keep it in place, seats will hold the back in place, still not sure how I'm gonna hold the corners and sides in... I really don't wanna glue it...

Also installed the grill but apparently I forgot to take a pic....

I have never actually seen a 521 without the snaps as they are a hassle to remove.

I would take a photo but I do not have a photo hosting service, the driver side snap is located on the interior fender well just below the level of the steering column going thru the firewall a couple inches away from the kick panel almost at the top where the interior fender well meets the firewall.

A snap is the best way as you can remove the carpet to clean it, but stock is not actually carpet, it's more like a plastic/rubber mat.

Well the snap is definately not there... must have been ground down or drilled out

I 'll add that to the list of items I never had with this truck.

I do agree the snap would make things easier Maybe I can add some industrial snaps and buttons In the corners and along the edges... i can still get the seats bolted in and the edges closer cut go from there ...

Some research to follow ...

Well for now the seats hold the carpet... still need to trim the excess but that can wait for a winter's day.....

the truck is back up and running, together enough to drive, (around the house atleast.. horseshoe driveway)...

Keeps the motivation alive when it runs and I can pull it in and out of the garage..

I really wanna put the bed on because I've never seen my truck with one, but that will have to wait..

Back to work getting the doors and fenders ready for paint before the cold weather comes....
