If you were younger you could push the bottom and run around to see where the noise would be coming from.

Just sayin'.

Ow, age jokes, that hurts!

Been pushin the button, but no noise making happening.

Thanks to all, now the horns have been located, just need to pull the fucking bar off to get to them.

Stooopid Datsun engineers!

You should hear a clicking sound from the relay. The chance of two horns quitting at the same time is very remote. Check the 11th fuse over from the driver's door. It powers the horn and the chime and nothing else so you won't know it's not working. The horn relay is located under the dash beside the steering column (probably the left side in Oz) but next to the intermittent wiper amplifier box. If no click maybe the horn butten is not grounding. I rarely use the horn and sometimes it fails to make good contact. Try honking on it repeatedly to clean the contacts.

In my work I talk a lot about circumstantial, and actual evidence.

No oics, but, interestingly enough, the battery had an earth cable grounded from the body (back of the battery tray) to a line which terminated where the negative battery terminal is, but, someone had hacked off the connection meaning basically, no earth/grounding.

So, circumstancial evidence suggests, despite most of the other electrics working, actual evidence suggests lack of battery to body/chassis ground MAY be causing a problem?

Connection of said eart/ground wire now results in horn(s) working.

Who would have thunk it?
