Ignition switch to key barrell broken. Solutions?

I broke my ignition switch. 45 years of service. One day I was starting it and *snap* ! I pulled the switch off the back of the tumbler and found the small metals piece that turns the switch snapped off the tumbler. I pulled two pieces of metal out. One was loose, the other came easily out of the back of the key tumbler. This seems like a piece I should be able to source, but no luck. And since there was no reasonable repair, I tossed it a while ago. So no pic of that part. A very simple flat piece of metal with a narrow spot where it passed through the tumbler back wall to allow it to turn with the key. Does anyone at least know what I'm talking about? Even better if you know where to get one. Or have a dead ignition lying around you could pull from.

It just transmits rotation from that metal barrel to the plastic switch.

Here's a similar switch from google image search. See how there is a male piece on the ke barrel. That came out of mine. E1C2315A-DE7B-43CC-955B-DCB30C345925.jpg
