510 bumper possibility

I'm not sure how available bumpers are for your 510s but here's a pic of my old 1964 MK1 Cortina GT & these are being re-popped in stainless & they look like a possible fit. I've been thinking of getting a front pair of the bumperettes, flipping them over & using them on the rear of my 620 (but they're too shiny.).

Thanks dattokai! I like that look. I have a wasted rusty front bumper... Might have to do an experiment.

Those Cortina bumpers might be worth a look if the price is good. Worried they don't wrap around the sides enough to look right tho.

Yeah, 510 corner is much more square

OH DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love those Cortinas.

Saw lots in Austraila with Pinto motors down there

ck out Spannerfodder I think and its a Cortina site they use Datsun L moto cranks to put in the Cortina/lotus motors as they are forged and cheap to get unlike the cosworth cranks

Cool, thanks. I loved the car aesthetically but it had lots of filler in it & I got rid of it while it looked good. It had an old Bondurant formula Ford engine in it with a dry sump that a previous owner put in. It was noisy due to all the solid mounts.

All of the climate control stuff had been removed & it sucked to drive but for a month out of the year & that stuff just was not readily available. The suspension sucked & wasn't easily obtained so I modified the front housings to accept Bilsteins for a Golf & threaded coil overs & rabbit rears.

The aftermarket seats that were in it were barely better than lawn chairs & were about as securely mounted, I fabbed up mounts & bolted some Recaros in, put the tires & wheels on it & found the bumpers online.

EVERYBODY stared at that beast. It even won an award at an All Ford car show that it wasn't even registered to participate in.
