SK8R SURFR 510
Hi all, Lately my Left Blinker light indicator on my 1970 510 Dash has been blinking faster than the right one.. All my bulbs in my tail lights and turn signals work and are okay, and turn signals blink fast. I don't recall them blinking this fast before.. All fuses in my fuse box panel look okay too. Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
Roadster-ka
Flasher or poor contact in bulb socket. 1 Quote Link to comment
Draker
There is resistance in the circuit.. likely in the socket. Quote Link to comment
racerx
resistance if futile... Quote Link to comment

banzai510(hainz)
this would have been the proplem since you had it then. Most times we assume it just happened. then think soemthing went bad 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The old Datsun flasher units were mechanical and load dependent. More load (more bulbs or wrong bulbs) = faster flashing. A blown bulb usually causes the flasher to not work. Quote Link to comment
kmc63
After a few years without turn signals. Picked up a generic flasher at the local parts store and now I have signals, I never bothered before cause I thought it was something more complicated Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Newer ones can be solid state and are not load dependent. They will flash at the same speed even with a single bulb rather than 4 or more. Only problem is if a bulb burns out there is no indication. I just grab them from wrecking yards.
