L18 Bogging

Over the weekend I was driving home on the freeway in my 510 with an L18 and Side draft Su's, cars been running fine for months, Car was running fine in 5th gear when all the sudden it started to loose power and bog/ cut in and out.. I slowed down, down shifted to 4th and took the nearest exit. In the lower gears 1-3rd car was running fine so I kept driving. Once going up a hill in 3rd and 4th it started acting up again.. So I pulled over let it idle and pop the hood. Everything seemed fine. I turned the motor off, let it sit for a bit then started it up and drove home (7 miles till Home) and it seemed to be fine.. Was a warm day, and don't think it was vapor lock... Anyone have any suggestions?

Yeah, planning on checking the filter, even though its only about 2 months old. Also gonna clean out the jets and check the float levels.

if you don't have a plastic see through gas filter, install one.  You can easily see dirt and crud if that's the issue.  Not sure if you have points, I would check them and also check your coil.

what is the history on fuel pump and gas tank?

replaced the mechanical fuel pump about 2 months ago, The gas tank is the original from what I've been told by the PO.

Change the filter it's easy and cheap. Don't fuck with the float or jets unless it's needed. Don't fix what ain't broken this only leads to breaking something of fucking it up..
