banzai510(hainz)
I would leave the toyota motor in there Quote Link to comment
racerx
Those toy engines are hi rev engines. Quote Link to comment
difrangia
Nice vintage pickup, D T. Welcome here, and do post more photos. Taller roof than many 1200 pickups. I've read that at least some SA pickups had taller roof for taller polulace. Called 'Bakki' or something like that in SA ?? Steve Quote Link to comment
D T
Hi Thanks for all the compliments so far. Really proud of my little pickup. @banzia - I would love to keep the 4AGE in there but its time is done. Striped it out the other day and found I sorta cracked the head. Now as reliable as these motors are they don't like being abused either. So next up is probably a VG30DETT, or something with similar power. Quote Link to comment
D T
Thanks Steve It might look vintage but it's actually a 2003 model. We got them here until 2008. And yeah, the taller roof does give it some more room inside. Quote Link to comment
difrangia
Is that well used ashtray on the cowl 'original equipment' ?? Color matches pretty good. Quote Link to comment
racerx
Wtf...u guys got those in 2003, lucky...i like it like that plain and simple, no frickin seat warmers, cameras, more bells and whistles, more issues later on! Quote Link to comment
difrangia
Absolutely love to have one. Quote Link to comment
mhub91
Great looking little truck!!! Personally, I would MUCH rather have that 4A-GE in there. Far superior in almost every way. Quote Link to comment
D T
I would of loved to keep it and turbo that motor, but it's stuffed. So I'm looking at other options now. Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Welcome to Ratsun. So the truck is 13 years old and already the engine has been swapped? How long ago? What came in it? A J15 or something? In my opinion, a VG30 is too large for that truck and not that great of an engine anyway. Sounds like you've got your mind made up, so I won't try to change it, but if that were my truck, I'd rebuild the 4AG and keep it. I did a 4AG 20V swap a few years ago on a Sunbeam Alpine and that sucker rips. 1 Quote Link to comment
Draker
oh.. that swap looks nice in there. ^^ Quote Link to comment
