jboulukos
After removing the anti-dieseling solenoid from the carb to repair the wire, I noticed this other wire (pictured) has become detached from it's entry point. What does this connection do? I looked in the service manual and it says that the cylinder thing on the right with the black cap is the Throttle Opener Control Valve, but uncertain about this wire. Is it possible to attempt to solder it together? Quote Link to comment
jboulukos
More pictures added. I'm going to try to solder this wire back on unless someone else has another suggestion. I don't even know what this wire is for. Quote Link to comment
luis52
I found the same broken wire on my 77 b210. Once I soldered it back in and it cured hesitations at higher revs. 1 Quote Link to comment

I haven't soldered it back on yet though. It broke very close the the insertion point. Now it's 18 degrees in Chicago so I need to wait till April. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Sometimes a post slips by if there are many post that day or even in an hour. Yours just fell farther and farther back is all. The pictured part has to do with the BCDD (boost controlled deceleration device) During high speed deceleration the carb closes and the mixture runs rich and causes emissions. The BCDD is like a small carb within the carb that allows a small amount of gas and air in so the engine burns more efficiently. There is a vacuum switch that turns the BCDD on and off. It wouldn't affect running unless it soesn't shut off properly... then you may have an unexplained intermittent slightly fast idle. 1 Quote Link to comment
