Where can I find these?

Recommended Posts

Hi fellow Ratsuns,

I have gotten tired of finding so many panel fittings that ALMOST fit (e.g. Ford and Chyrsler). Does anyone know where I can find panel fittings that really do fit the door panels and holes on the body/doors of a 1973 Datsun 610? We have an early 1973 (9/72) WPL610. I have been to all the auto parts stores in my area with no luck.

Every time I'm in a wrecking yard and find a Nissan I have a mental check list of things like those, that I grab for pocket fillers. A few spares are always good, you don't need fifty of each.  Depends on what vehicle you currently have...

Glass fuses

Door card clips

The wire C clips that hold the window wind ups.

Brake and turn signal bulbs

Dash bulbs

H4 headlamp bulbs.

Interior lamp bulbs and their lenses

Door switches.

Plastic relays from '80s vehicles.

Fasteners... screws, small bolts, washers of all sizes

The clips that the hood support clips into

'Rubber' fill plug for the steering box

Fusible links

Hood rubber bump stops

Rotor (if good quality and shape)

I figure the $2 or $3 entry fee covers those little items.  I did not mind paying an entry fee until the yards quit deducting it form you bill and started taxing it.

Thanks guys. I looks like the "620" white fittings are the same size/design as my black 610 fittings. I need to count how many I need. Many were missing.

I really got a hoot out of what Datzen mike wrote. Our 610 is my wife's car. My car is a 1978 Fiat 124 convertible (license plate CXXIV, CentoVentiQuattro, an old Italian car should have a plate in Roman Numerals), after I bought it in 1983 I was constantly going through wrecking yards getting old style enameled emblems, gauges, trim pieces,  and any other parts that looked neat!

I  never found a Datsun 610 in a wrecking yard. Does anyone have any idea of how many Datsun 610 station wagons still exist in registered/good running condition?
